This little unit is a mystery. Nice re-engining job, left it with some dignity and really nice tall stack but I'm not sure of its origins. It was apparently 703 somewhere.
I thought the footboards were a little outdated then the guy climbed on top of that GN car. As I recall it had something to do with the door.
Remember footboards. In those days they were used as this great little unit shuffles cars at the tiny interchange on the Feather River Line.
Reflecting the MEC affiliation this old Portland Terminal yard unit was a beautiful sight to two southern boys out to find as many units as possible of a whirlwind trip of 4000 miles in 8 days.
