It's the end of the line for the tardy Grand Canyon Limited as passengers offload and the crew prepare for clean up on track 12 at Los Angeles Union Station.

In 1974, the southbound Floridian was due in Montgomery around supper time, but was often hours late. On this sunny September evening it's late again, but at least it beats the sunset.

Perhaps headed for Mobile and the coal terminal at McDuffie Island, SD40-2s pass Union Station with coal loads.
