Amtrak #5, the westbound Zephyr rounds one of the many sharp curves in Byers Canyon, Colorado. I understand the curve the train has just passed is the sharpest curve on the old D&RGW mainline.
With a GP40-2 more than adequately replacing a non-available F9B unit, the Zephyr makes easy work negotiating the twists and turns of Byers Canyon in August 1981.
