The SBB's red "Churchill Arrow" RAe 4/8 # 1021, decorated for Christmas, is on its traditional Christmas Eve excursion. The journey first led from Zurich via Bülach to Schaffhausen with a pass by the illuminated Rhine Falls. Then back to Eglisau, on via Koblenz-Turgi-Brugg to Othmarsingen, and via Mägenwil-Wettingen back to Zurich main station. The iconic double red arrow "Churchill-Pfeil", built in 1939, just reached Eglisau coming from Schaffhausen.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
