Union Pacific's Marlboro Local, LOA32, having just bisected the parking lot for the Honda Center (home of the NHL's Ducks hockey franchise), crosses over the Santa Ana River at a blistering 10 mile-per-hour. As usual of late, the train, which originated in UP's West Anaheim Yard, near downtown Anaheim, is powered by a rare (only three were built!) GP40P-2, UP 1375 (ex-SP 7602, née-SP 3199), and a GP60, UP 1083 (ex-UP 1953, née-SSW 9651), pulling five cars (DWC box car 794591, AOKX covered hopper 600009, GATX tank cars 217963 and 231971m and ABOX box car 51989. This is UP's Tustin Industrial Lead, although it no longer gets to Tustin. This train will service industries in the city of Orange, which on the UP (as it was on predecessor Southern Pacific) is called Marlboro. The train will head west across this same bridge, returning to the West Anaheim Yard, 90 minutes later. (Anaheim, California – February 8, 2022)
