"Baltimore & Ohio 800" emerges from the south portal of Howard Tunnel on the ex-Pennsylvania Railroad Northern Central Branch with a mantrap sponsored by the Chesapeake Division of the Railroad Enthusiasts. Howard Tunnel is currently unused, but Steam Into History hopes to restore service back through the tunnel; when that happens, the tunnel will return to its status as the second-oldest active tunnel in the U.S. (built in the 1830s).
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
