Remarks & Notes 
This locomotive was the 100th pacific designed for the LNER (London North Eastern Railway) by Sir Nigel Gresley. To mark the event the locomotive was named in his honour. The fastest steam locomotive in the world 'Mallard' is a member of this class. They were designed to operate on the fastest of expresses primarily between London and Edinburgh in Scotland.
