Remarks & Notes
Amtrak's southbound Vermonter train rolls by the new absolute signal at the South Siding Switch White River Junction that is part of the ARRA-funded CTC extension from Windsor to just north of White River Junction, VT. The 18.5 miles of new CTC was extended to help improve efficiency in switching and operations for Amtrak's Vermonter, in addition to the New England Central freight operations.

The successor to the Montrealer, the Vermonter runs between St. Albans, Vt., and Washington, DC. Much of the northern part of the route runs along the Connecticut and White Rivers.
