Remarks & Notes 
It's not often that an all but abandoned branchline gets a second chance. Rio Grande's Pleasant Valley Branch in Utah was abandoned in the early 1960's and completely rebuilt in 1975 to serve a new coal mine near Scofield. Crews are pictured laying down all new track near the Valley Camp coal mine in Utah's appropriately named 'Carbon' County.
