A few weeks before the charter, I realized I was approaching my 765th photo accepted. So, naturally, Nickel Plate 2-8-4 765 had to be the focus of that photo, seen here blasting through Carland with one of, if not the best smoke plumes of the weekend while a few locals gather at the mill. The driver (and owner) of the Chevy pickup is the Steam Railroading Institute's executive director, T.J. Gaffney.
