Remarks: As this year's Lackawanna Railfest festivities wound down, the Amtrak display train was backed off of the display track alongside the entrance driveway to be staged for departure the next morning. Due to trackwork in the Steamtown yard, the train had to be backed over the turntable and through the roundhouse and shop complex to get back out to the boarding platform, passing between NS BP4 999 and CP SD90MAC 9143, also in town for the festival.

Remarks: With only a few minutes of sunlight left on a hot July evening, CSXT 4423 and 7 cars emerge from the woods and cross Lake Manalapan on the return trip from Freehold to Browns Yard. The crew will tie the train down in a couple hundred feet as they break for dinner and wait for the nightly local to clear the Amboy Secondary so they can return to the yard.

Remarks: Wilmington & Western 0-6-0 58 catches the last few minutes of light as it passes the abandoned, collapsing No. 1 Mill of the National Vulcanized Fibre Company, built in the early 20th Century. The vultures circling over the mill are an ominous symbol of the mill's impending fate.

Remarks: Happy Independence Day. For this year's Fireworks Express trip to Hockessin, the crew of Wilmington & Western 0-6-0 58 experimented with a new type of fuel. After the fireworks get shoveled into the boiler, the excess explosions can be seen exiting the smokestack.
