Remarks & Notes
Midnight Blue And A Blue Sky (Redux). Amtrak 100 (P42DC, 50th Anniversary, Midnight Blue) is in a unique paint scheme that represents the "commitment of our employees moving people around the clock and across the nation. On February 22, 2024, Amtrak Train 280 with AMTK 100 leading was nearing the end of its journey from Niagara Falls, New York to New York's Penn Station as it passed through the Harlem Valley next to the Hudson River with the George Washignton Bridge in the background. Yes, diesels do sometimes run in place of a dual-mode locomotive in Empire Service on the Hudson Line south/east of Albany-Resnsselaer. When one arrives at Penn Station, exhaust vents are turned on until the locomotive leaves for the yard.
