Remarks & Notes
ARGENTINE KS May 2 1982 — Santa Fe slug 129 was built by EMD (s/n 25408) in July 1959 for Union Pacific as SD24B 420B. UP retired the unit in April 1978 and sold it in August 1978 to Naporano Iron & Metal in Newark NJ. That company sold it to the Santa Fe in April 1979. Santa Fe finished rebuilding it into yard slug 129 in October 1979 as slug 129. It was painted into SPSF sometime between August 1985 and July 1986. It was renumbered to ATSF 1129 in Mid 1989. It regained Bookends paint Santa Fe paint sometime between mid-1989 and Oct 1 1990. On Oct 12 1998 it Became BNSF 3970. My photo.
