The star of NJ Transit's "Meet the Heritage Fleet" event at Hoboken Terminal was not actually a current NJ Transit locomotive. "Erie Lackawanna" U34CH 3372 is in the process of being restored to operating condition by the URHS in Boonton, NJ. Cosmetic restoration was (mostly) completed a little over a week prior to this event. Regardless, 3372 looks as good as it did in April 1971 when it was rolled off the GE assembly line at Erie, PA. It served commuters via this terminal for over two decades before retirement. A bit of historical nitpicking...the terminal's clock tower was not yet restored during the service life of the U34CH and would only (re)appear roughly 15 years after their retirement in 1994. In the end who really cares, 3372 looked great on home rails again.
