Remarks & Notes
The 1960 line change between Williams and Crookton, AZ was a significant event in expediting traffic. The steep grades and sharp curves of the old route via Ash Fork were replaced with a high speed, maximum 1% grade, CTC controlled cut-off. Santa Fe 636 leads a westbound off the Arizona Divide at Double A, AZ. Some of the extensive excavation necessary for this project is visible behind the signal bridges. Fuji Velvia.
