A warm summer evening sunset burns in the sky above the Biloxi Bay and CSX’s New Orleans & Montgomery Subdivision. As gentle waves lap the shore, CSX long distance local L800 is framed from the eastern beach of the bay as they make the 1.1 mile trek across the bridge into Ocean Springs, MS behind a solo YN2 C40-8W leader. The Mississippi Gulf Coast remains undefeated for a photographer to capture scenes like this along the old Louisville & Nashville route.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
