On ausgust 10, a northbound freight train derailed in the Gotthard Base Tunnel (GBT) and since then, both bores are closed. All passenger trains and some freights, which are able to go through the lower claerance, are rerouted over the "old" mountain line, now called panorama line. Re 460 # 025 of the SBB pulls the IC 10878 from Lugano to Zürich over the 105 meter long Pianotondo viaduct on the uppermost level of the loops in the Biaschina, between Giornico and Lavorgo. This is a push-pull train with 9 cars of type standard IV and Apm/Bpm "Eurocity-cars". The Pianotondo viaduct was built in 1882 as truss bridge and rebuilt in 1893 and 1919 to the present appearance.
