BN SD45 no. 6501 is being hostled at the Harrison St. turntable at BN engine facilities in Minneapolis, MN. This unit is a good example of the later production of SD45s made by EMD. First, BN chose to use GE style cab side windows, a carry over from Northern Pacific. Second, the unit featured the extended dynamic brake design that would be normal on SD40-2s starting in 1972. BN 6501 was built in May 1971, and later became WC 6502 (later 7502).
