The two new automatic gauge change facilities in Zweisimmen on tracks 6 and 7 in the home position (not active), in operation since the timetable change on December 11, 2022. In the background, the standard gauge tracks are coming from the direction of Interlaken-Spiez, in the foreground, the GOLDENPASS EXPRESS trains continue to roll towards Montreux on 1 meter gauge. In Zweisimmen, a system has been developed by the Prose company for the Goldenpass Express that allows narrow-gauge passenger coaches with EV18 bogies (from Alstom/Salzgitter) to transfer to standard-gauge tracks with 15 km/h. The gauge change system shifts the two halves of the longitudinally split bogie frame against each other. In addition to changing the track gauge, the height of the support of the car body is also changed in order to adapt the entrances to the different platform heights in the two networks. From the first test for such bogies and now are more then 10 years.
