Remarks & Notes 
First generation diesels populate the "Dead Line" in the old Virginian Railway yard in south Roanoke. GP9 888 was built sometime in 1959. GP9 513 was built in November 1958 and was one of the Tuscan Red units built for passenger service to replace the J-Class 4-8-4 steam engines. GP18 923 was built in December 1959.
