Several EMD locomotives are in the Diesel House at Union Pacific’s Burnham Shops in Denver, Colorado, on December 16, 2015. Built in 1874 by the Rio Grande, the shops and yard at Burnham, located a couple of miles south of downtown Denver, were the main shop facilities for the railroad. This view is of the newer Diesel House opened in 1965, where locomotives are repaired and serviced. UP closed the historic facility in February 2016.
