On May Day 2022, both Will County Coal Handling SD20's sit quietly. 1802 is literally parked at the end of the line, while 1801 is awaiting a crew to shove a string of coal empties out of the plant. The Midwestern Generation Station in Romeoville stands in the background. It's scheduled to close next month, but only time will tell if that's accurate. A fellow Midwestern Generation plant in Waukegan, IL is scheduled for the same fate.
