CNW SW1200 no. 1216 mates up with slug no. BU 8 to handle switching on a cool January afternoon at Cedar Lake Yard in Minneapolis. Slug BU 8 was rebuilt in October 1964 from SW1 no. 1209. CNW rebuilt a number of switchers, road switchers and F unit boosters into slugs during the 60s to increase traction effort for switching and road freights where extra horsepower was not needed.
