Remarks & Notes
Following a weekend New England snow storm, no freight or passenger trains were operated over the New England Central Railroad's route through Vermont and New Hampshire. A light engine move was summoned out of St. Albans on Monday to plow snow ahead of the Amtrak Vermonter southbound train #57 to Montpelier Jct., VT. The first train to operate over the mainline southbound from White River Jct., VT was the Vermonter #57, seen drift busting through Cornish, NH. The ambient temp was -6 F and the wind chill at -25 F, but the image was taken from across the Connecticut River as this is the view from my dining room bay window, where I was warmly positioned.
