| I think it is unique in the whole world that a railway line (not a siding) crosses the runway of an airfield. This is (or was) the case in Gisborne in New Zealand. Today (since 2012) the route is unfortunately closed due to storm damage. The 4-8-2 J # 1211 "Gloria" of the Mainline Steam Heritage Trust crosses the runway with a special train to Napier. |
