CNW 5099, the last GP50 delivered to C&NW is in showroom condition brightening up an otherwise dreary day at Altoona, WI on an eastbound train. With a builder's date of September 1980, this could very well be its the second leg of its first revenue round trip between Chicago and the Twin Cities. These handsome Geeps did not please C&NW operating management and the next new power would be SD50s, then SD60s before abandoning EMD for GE products.
