On this day, the second "Giruno" highspeed train for the SBB, RABe 501 # 002, made it's first brake test runs on the Thur valley mainline between Sulgen and Romanshorn. When the train left the Stadler Rail commissioning center Erlen for the very first time, the coupling protection in the rear was opened, so there is a nice view to this device, the Scharfenberg coupler (SchaKu type 10), to connect two trainsets to form a 400 meter train.
