A Santa Fe intermodal train approaches Santa Fe Junction near the state line at Kansas City, Missouri, on the afternoon of September 15, 1990. Powering the westbound train is GE B23-7 No. 6367, EMD GP35u No. 2961, EMD GP39-2 No. 3674 and EMD GP38u No. 2359. The bridge above the train is the “high line” approach for KCT’s Kaw River Bridge. Kansas City Union Station can be seen in the background toward the rear of the train. This scene is a bit different today as there is a new flyover bridge over the high line bridge used to expedite BNSF trains over this maze of trackage.
