The elegant TRANS EUROP EXPRESS trainset RAe TEE II # 1053 of SBB Historic, ready for the first round trip for the patrons, in Zürich main station track 18. In the background the National Museum Zürich. The train was built in 1961 by SIG and MFO as first class offer for international traffic, in a small series of 4. A fifth train was built in 1967. Then, in 1988/89, the trainsets were converted for Eurocity traffic with first and second class and painted in a two tone grey, called "Grey mouse". Withdrawn and scapped around 2000, train # 1053 was saved and built back as Trans Europ Express by SBB Historic in 2003.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
