Schöllenen gorge between Göschenen and Andermatt in the real winter. Cogwheel train of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB) with railcar Deh 4/4 # 53 "Urseren" from 1972 is crossing the Brüggwald viaduct. The 4 kilometer long 1 meter gauge line between Göschenen and Andermatt was built in 1917 as independent "Schöllenenbahn" (Schöllenen Railway) with up to 17.9 % grade and electrified with 1200 V DC. The old "Teufelsbrücke" (devil's bridge) is from 1830, replacing one from 1595. The first wooden bridge was built here around 1200, according the legend by the devil.
