Anticipation Winter air is laden with moisture and a light fog swirls in the airy blue hour of dusk on January 25, 2013. Stillness of the moment is broken as a distant air horn blowing for Trout Creek is barely heard. Another louder horn blast announces an approaching westbound train crossing Martin Creek Road. Tones of blue dividing the snow from the air now begin to slowly separate as a faint glow grows to the east. The blaze of illuminated fog intensifies and looks like a rising sun. Headlight beams pierce trackside trees, dancing in the night sky. Moments later, a BNSF MLAUPAS manifest freight rumbles past a frozen Frog Pond on Montana Rail Link’s Fourth Subdivision as tonnage rolls toward Spokane, Pasco and points west…
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
