Santa Fe Train #47 has just arrived at Phoenix Union Station from Williams Junction with F7A 309 and F3B 16A, coach 2934 and baggage car 3518. A trainman is just about to uncouple the engines so they can head back to Mobest Yard for servicing. Trains 42 and 47 were discontinued on April 30, 1969.
The Santa Fe's warbonnet paint scheme on passenger diesel locomotives was one of the most iconic in railroading. It appealed to travelers and modellers alike, and helped brand Santa Fe all the way from Chicago to California and Texas.
