Four years old, but still squeaky clean, Union Pacific SD40-2 3672 leads a westbound freight around the curve at Cajon Pass' Swarthout Canyon Road grade crossing as it approaches Blue Cut on its way to Los Angeles. In the mid-1980s, EMD SD40-2s were the dominant locomotive model on the Union Pacific.
