After being rebuilt in 1974, D&M 975 (Later LSRC 975) spent a long 31 years pulling freights in Northern Michigan. The unit rolled out of the paint shop on January 12th, 2005, and ran until December of that year before mechanical issues sidelined it. The unit has sat in Alpena since then, long since abandoned due to the LSRC's commitment to replacing the Alcos. The unit is currently owned by Waymore Power, and if a suitable home is not found soon, the unit will end up in the scrap pile. Equal credit for this photo goes to contributor Ron Cady.
