Remarks & Notes

The hottest trains on the D&RGW in 1987 were the 'Railblazer' sprint trains. Here the eastbound variant (train #102) hauls piggyback trailers up the Mapleton Bench just east of Springville, Utah. The Rio Grande guaranteed a 14 hour delivery time between Utah & Colorado's capitol cities.
