| Despite numerous advances in technology over the years, not much has changed in the way San Francisco's cable cars operate since they were first built. Here, two crew members manually turn a Powell-Hyde car on the Hyde Street turntable at the end of the line. The Golden Gate Bridge is visible in the background. |
