Remarks: With lights flashing and sirens wailing, an East Orange police car speeds west on Freeway Drive as a New York bound local train speeds east on NJ Transit's Morris & Essex Lines.
Remarks: An equipment move from the Atlantic City Line to NJ Transit's shops in Kearny speeds up the Northeast Corridor through New Brunswick. Atlantic City Line sets are usually four cars in length, but were expanded to six this week for a teacher's convention in Atlantic City.
Remarks: GP40FH-2 no. 4141 leads a westbound train through Deal en route to Bay Head. This model locomotive, which sports a spartan cab and cowled body, is one of only four remaining in active service on the NJ Transit roster.
Remarks: Leaving Kearny, this train of empties enters onto Hack Drawbridge over the Hackensack River before entering into Jersey City. Note the old Pennsylvania Railroad catenary towers over the tracks. Taken from the New Jersey Route 7 Witpenn Bridge.
