Doing the honors of leading the second FPCH of the year, Providence & Worcester B39-8E #3903 made an uncommon appearance leading the Cedar Hill bound FPCH on Wednesday the 25th, 2026.
The stars seemed to align for this one, getting an early start out of Fresh Pond allowing for perfect golden hour lighting as they smoke up the grade climbing Industrial 5 track to the Hell Gate Bridge. There was no way I could pass up on this opportunity seeing as FPCH departs after dusk more often than not nowadays, along with the fact that it is so few and far between that any of the units in proper P&W paint get a chance to lead this train anymore.
