100 years ago on March 1, 1926, the first electric revenue service operated in New South Wales from Sydney Central to Oatley on the Illawarra Line. Under threatening skies on March 1, 2026, 1920s-Vintage Electric Multiple Unit F1 coasts through Banksia with Run 880G from Oatley to Sydney Central. The historic train operated multiple trips on this route to commemorate the first electric train journey. Many of the cars in the consist of this train are of historic significance - namely Car C3426 which operated the first official train across the Sydney Harbour Bridge on March 19, 1932.
