| In 2022 SBB Cargo ordered 35 Siemens "Vectron" locomotives, leased for 8 years. This is being handled by the lessor NorthRail in cooperation with the Swiss bank Reichmuth AG. NorthRail and Reichmuth will lease the locomotives to SBB Cargo for eight years. The lease agreement also includes maintenance of the vehicles for the same period, which Siemens will carry out at SBB Cargo. The locomotive for 15000 V 16.7 Hz AC weighs 86 tons, has an output of 6400 kW and is licensed in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. In Switzerland, a maximum of 120 km/h is permitted according to train series A. Locomotive 193 # 060 pulls the freight train 61073 from Lausanne shunting yard (LT) to Sion between Rivaz and St-Saphorin on the shore of Lake Geneva. |
