Requalifying On The Adirondack. 5 years ago today, on February 7, 2021, Amtrak Trains 835/834 covered the territory normally operated by trains 69/68 (Adirondack) to keep crews qualified on the territory. As there were no passengers, a pair of P42DCs to facilitate changing ends in Rouses Point bracketing a pair of AmFleets to maintain track speed, was more than enough train to get the job done. The short consist is seen south of Port Henry, New York, next to Route 9N and the frozen Bulwagga Bay on Lake Champlain as it returns to the Amtrak facility in Albany-Rensselaer, New York. Regular service to Montreal was suspended in March 2020 and resumed on April 3, 2023.
