UP 1977 and SD40-2 & SD60 mates handle heavy switching at Altoona as they put together G3, an Altoona to Rochelle, IL freight. The two SD40-2s are about as good as it gets for decent looking UP power in this area. The SD60, weather worn, was pulled out of storage and put back to work. Area locals have used these units, but more recently have been seen with SD70Ms in not nearly as sharp appearance.
