A quartet of diesels sits in Rock Island’s yard in Amarillo: Two GP40s, a U25B and an U28B. RI GP40 4709 as built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division in April 1970. After the fall of the Rock Island, it would become Union Pacific 640.
