| Lasers Divide.
Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) MP15AC no. 150 leads the laser train through DIVIDE Interlocking towards Hicksville Station. The train is made up of two former Budd M3 multiple units - no.s E932 and E775 - bookended by locomotives 150 and 152. The M3 cars have been modified with high-powered lasers to burn leaf residue off the rails, preventing "slip-slide" conditions that can adversely affect train braking and acceleration. |
