Remarks & Notes
Blue Budds. Metro-North Railroad (MNR) M3A car 8071 is the lead unit on Hudson Line train 747, seen making its station stop at Ardsley-on-Hudson Station en-route to Croton-Harmon. The Budd Company manufactured 142 of these M3A "Metropolitans" in the mid 1980s, alongside a similar fleet for the Long Island Rail Road. To date only two have been scrapped, but their existence is threatened by the upcoming M9A contract that will replace them entirely.
