On January 5, 2026, the railway company Thurbo, a 90% subsidiary of SBB, began using the first new Flirt Evo trains from StadlerRail in scheduled service. RABe 533 # 501 “Thurgau,” the first in a series of 19 four-car trains, is traveling as 11940 of the line S9 from Wil SG to Wattwil, between Bazenheid and Lütisburg.
