On August 20th, 2025, New Jersey Transit’s self-propelled Track Geometry Inspection Vehicle (TGIV) passes the former Erie Railroad station in Port Jervis, NY along the Port Jervis Line. Built by Harsco Rail, the TGIV continuously measures track geometry and catenary conditions using an array of non-contact sensors at speeds up to 50 mph. The data gathered provides NJ Transit engineering teams with a detailed view of track condition, supporting proactive maintenance and long-term infrastructure planning.
