On August 20th, 2025, New Jersey Transit’s self-propelled Track Geometry Inspection Vehicle (TGIV) heads west past the historic station house at Tuxedo, New York along the Port Jervis Line. Built by Harsco Rail, the TGIV continuously measures track geometry and catenary conditions using an array of non-contact sensors at speeds up to 50 mph. The data gathered provides NJ Transit engineering teams with a detailed view of track condition, supporting proactive maintenance and long-term infrastructure planning.
