The Bernina Line of the Rhaetian Railway has seen a sharp increase in passenger numbers over recent years. Of course, it is one of the most beautiful railway lines in existence. Over the Christmas and New Year holidays, the rush, especially from Italy (Tirano), is almost impossible to cope with. All RhB rolling stock that can be used on the Bernina line with its tight curve radii is then in service. In the morning in Tirano and in the afternoon in St. Moritz, long queues of passengers form, waiting for a ride. The two ABe 4/4 railcars # 54 "Hakone" and # 56 "Corviglia", which are no longer used for passenger transport but are assigned to infrastructure, are used as “locomotives” for a special train that runs with 6 panoramic cars and is called TRENO BERNINA. Train 2639 from St.Moritz to Tirano with 6 panorama cars is crossing the Ova da Roseg bridge between Pontresina and Surovas.
