| With the timetable change on December 14, the new connection from Basel SBB via the freight station with the 360-meter-long Donnerbaum Bridge to Muttenz was officially put into operation. As a rule, two Interregio and six S-Bahn trains run hourly on this new route, which crosses the three-track main line from Basel SBB to Muttenz. The IR 2267 on line IR 37 from Basel via Liestal-Sissach-Gelterkinden-Aarau-Lenzburg to Zurich HB is scheduled to run with a high-speed “Giruno” train of the SBB, in this case the RABe 501 # 022 “Vaud.” The journey time on this route is around 1 minute longer than on the more direct line.
